Information We Collect

Coop may collect information you provide when using the app, including:

• Account information, such as your email address and profile name.
• Family or household information, including household membership and family invitation information.
• App activity and content, such as chores, chore assignments, point balances, rewards, redemptions, and related activity.
• Photos you choose to upload, such as a profile photo or a photo used as proof of completing a chore.
• A push notification token if you allow notifications.
• Your approximate device location when you choose to allow location access so Coop can display local weather.

Coop does not require you to upload photos or enable location or notification permissions in order to use every feature of the app.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate and improve Coop, including to authenticate accounts, connect members of a household, assign and track chores, calculate points, manage rewards and privileges, display profile information, send app notifications, show local weather when requested, maintain security, and provide support.

Children and Family Accounts

Coop is designed for families and may be used by children as part of a household. Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising a child's use of Coop and for creating or permitting accounts, profile information, chores, rewards, photos, and other content they are authorized to manage.

Photos, Location, and Notifications

Coop requests access to certain device features only when needed for a feature you choose to use. Photo library or camera access may be requested when selecting a profile image or submitting chore proof. Location access may be requested to retrieve current local weather. Notification permission may be requested so Coop can deliver reminders or other app notifications. You can manage these permissions through your device settings.

Service Providers and Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Coop uses third-party services to operate the app. These include Google Firebase services for authentication, database storage, file storage, and cloud functions; Expo services for push notification functionality; and Open-Meteo to retrieve weather information when the local weather feature is used.

Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, protect users, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect the security and operation of Coop.

Data Retention and Deletion

Information is retained while it is reasonably needed to provide and secure the service. You can permanently delete your Coop profile and sign-in account from the Profile settings within the app. Some information may remain temporarily in backups, logs, or records when retention is reasonably necessary for security, legal, or technical purposes.

Security

We use reasonable technical safeguards designed to protect information, including authenticated access and database and storage security rules. However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. Please avoid uploading sensitive information that is not needed to use Coop.

Your Choices

You can update profile information within the app, control camera, photo, location, and notification permissions through your device settings, and delete your profile through Coop's Profile settings. You may also contact us with privacy questions or requests.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Coop changes. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date shown at the top of this page.
